Myths about frame houses
There are many myths surrounding frame construction. Such houses are called fragile, fire-hazardous and cramped. Is this true?
Unfortunately, such opinions can be heard from experts as well. At the same time, it is not entirely clear where so much negativity towards frame houses comes from in Ukraine, because this construction technology is considered proven and reliable all over the world. What claims are most often voiced in disputes about frame houses?
Bad acoustics
It is often said that frame houses have very poor acoustics and soundproofing parameters. This is not true. Companies that specialize in the construction of frame buildings are guided by certain standards of soundproofing indicators. Noise between rooms is neutralized by special plasterboard panels. As for external walls, the insulation layer (mineral wool) itself is an excellent soundproofing material.

Wind instability
A frame house folds like a house of cards - this is another myth that has nothing to do with reality. Frame houses were developed in countries where hurricane winds occur much more often than here. Thus, frame technology is able to effectively withstand gusts of wind, thanks to the system of fastening individual elements.
Fire hazard
Wood burns well - that's a fact. However, when building frame houses, wood is used that is impregnated with special substances that make the material resistant to fire. Also, frame houses are built using non-combustible elements such as mineral wool and plasterboard. In addition, after a possible fire, a frame house is much easier to restore than a brick one.

Technology does not allow building large houses
This is not true. Frame technology gives a lot of room for maneuver. For example, not long ago in Sweden an eight-story building was built using frame technology. In neighboring Poland, frame houses with an area of over 400 square meters are popular. Experts, however, encourage the construction of medium-sized frame houses as the most optimal solution. It is believed that for a family of four, a house with an area of 150 m² is quite sufficient.
