Steel frame houses
Frame technology allows building efficiently and quickly. At the same time, for greater reliability, the already familiar wooden frame can be replaced with a steel one. There are already several companies on the Ukrainian market that design, manufacture and assemble frame houses from steel elements.
The advantages of such a technological solution are clear - steel is stronger, more reliable and more durable than wood, and besides, it does not burn. The disadvantage of a steel frame may be the risk of corrosion.
The steel structure allows building cottages up to three stories high. The installation of the frame of such a residential building usually lasts from 4 to 10 days, with a team of 3-5 workers. In general, the construction of a frame building takes 3 months.
Frame
The frame of the house in this case is usually built from galvanized profiles (zinc content - 275 g / m²), resistant to corrosion. The profiles are connected with screws, rivets and bolts.
Roofs for frame buildings are most often pitched, with a continuous deck, which is well suited for asphalt shingles.

Finishing and insulation of walls
Steel frame houses are insulated like regular frame houses. Today, the most popular material for thermal insulation is mineral wool. Particular attention is paid to the insulation of areas adjacent to the frame, since steel elements in this case can become a kind of "cold bridges". According to modern standards, the thermal conductivity of external walls in residential buildings should not exceed U 0.28 W / (m • K). For this, the insulation layer must be at least 14 cm thick. The interior of the walls is usually finished with plasterboard, and the exterior - with waterproof cement panels, OSB, etc. Decorative finishing can be done using clinker bricks, plaster or siding.
Fire resistance
Stainless steel is a non-flammable material that is resistant to deformation at high temperatures. Mineral wool also has good fire resistance. In addition, the fire safety of a frame house can be increased by using fireproof plasterboard panels.
Steel frame structures are easy to assemble, and individual elements are easy to transport to the construction site. Steel is a very strong, durable material, so frame houses made of steel elements can be a good solution for those who doubt the reliability of wooden frame houses.
