Unfinished house in winter
There are several cold months ahead. How to protect an unfinished house in winter? There are several basic rules.
Foundation
Proper foundation insulation is the key to success. It is necessary to arrange hydro- and thermal insulation of foundation walls before the onset of cold weather. Insulation materials can be left open, but in this case it is necessary to make sure that moisture does not get into the already insulated areas of the foundation.
Walls
Many investors worry about how the walls will behave in the winter without proper protection in the form of plaster. Once upon a time, the construction cycle was not as short as it is today. And it was absolutely normal for unfinished walls to be left for the winter. Modern materials are not afraid of snow and rain, the main thing is that moisture does not flow down the walls from the roof of the building.
So, rainwater from the roof should not flow down onto the walls. For this, the roof must be equipped with a drainage system.

Window and door openings
If you have not had time to install window and door structures for the winter, then the corresponding openings must be protected - with film, boards, other building materials. If there are already windows in the openings, then they must "survive" the winter in a non-hermetic state. Gaps will allow for proper ventilation of the building.
Unfinished house in winter - interior
In winter, it is advisable to maintain the temperature inside the building at a level of several degrees above zero. This way, the interior of the building will be able to dry out freely. In addition, such a temperature will allow many finishing and installation works to be carried out inside the building.
