Frameless glazing
Frameless glazing of balconies and terraces is becoming increasingly popular. This solution creates the impression that the glazing is made of a single glass panel.
A balcony in an apartment building is a wonderful, and sometimes the only, opportunity to arrange a small but cozy winter garden. Here, even in the harsh winter, you can enjoy the beauty of flowers and plants, while away a free minute with a cup of coffee, receive guests... Today, there are products on the market that allow you to glaze a balcony yourself without the help of specialists.
Frameless systems, as the name suggests, have no vertical framing members that can spoil the appearance of your home.
Frameless glazing is made of tempered construction glass, specially designed to protect rooms from street noise, polluted air, etc. But its biggest advantage is that such glass, especially installed from the south, east or west, can significantly improve the thermal conditions in the apartment. Similar solutions are already used in the construction of energy-efficient houses. In practice, it works like this: during the day, the glass heats up under the influence of sunlight and, retaining thermal energy for a long time, heats the room. At the same time, the absence of frames not only improves the aesthetic appearance of the glazing, but also does not prevent the sun's rays from heating the surface of the glass.

Anyone who cares about the safety of their home should take into account that frameless glazing of a balcony or terrace will become a rather difficult obstacle for a burglar. It is possible to open such a balcony only from the inside. The only way for a thief to get inside is to break the glass. However, in the case of tempered glass 8 or 10 mm thick, this “number” will not work. As a rule, the horizontal profiles of a frameless system are made of anodized aluminum, and the sliding elements and rollers are made of plastic with increased resistance to abrasion and mechanical damage.
Frameless glazing will ensure safety
Make sure that the system you buy meets safety standards and can be easily installed. Be vigilant when buying a frameless system - and you will save your nerves in the future. The correct installation and operation of a frameless glazing system depends on many details. Even the wrong length of the fastening bolts can affect it.
Such a glazing system should allow easy glass cleaning. This means that the window sashes should be easy to open from inside the building. A special slide mechanism is responsible for this - the sashes move along special guides on rollers. Thanks to this, a balcony or terrace can be glazed along the entire height of the room - from the ceiling to the floor.
